Never, ever pop the pannier bags on the rack and not bother strapping them up!
I did this today, I clipped the bags on the rack but left the bungee straps at the back loose as I was only moving the bike about 10 feet. Obviously the bungee hook DID clip itself on to a rear spoke, it DID wrap itself around the cassette, which DID rip it off the bag! Utterly stupid mistake. Either way, a trip to Halfords to grab a couple of short bungees has rectified the issue, but I’m still annoyed with myself for being so stupid.
